TURA, Nov. 10: A local weekly, A*chik Songbad, published from here, has come up with a report in its latest edition about a Garo Labour Corps graveyard where Garo soldiers killed in World War I in France have been buried.
The graveyard was found after 91 years and photographed by Cedric Claquin.
About 500 Garo men joined the British Allied Forces and fought the World War I. Those killed during the war were buried in various war cemeteries in South France, Marseilles and Mazargues.
The graveyards are still maintained properly.
The graveyard is located about 663 kilometres from Paris . The exclusive pictures were taken by Claquin for A´chik Songbad.
The newspaper said in its report that it is a privilege for the Garos as the graveyard is maintained properly and respects being paid by the British.
History is a witness that the Garo Labour Corps got the recognition from Allied Commander for their bravery in doing their work diligently braving the cold and extreme weather conditions.
