Dear all,What U Myo Myint Aung wrote is very true. We have to be careful of writing any name in its original form and to make it clarified what the word means. Actually, we write Rangoon, Yangon, but not Yan Gon, Mandalay and not Man Da Lay. As far as we know, it seems if it is the usual way to write the name of places to be in one word. That is why it is not written Yan Gon and it is Rangoon, Yangon, Mandalay. So it should be Kalaymyo town and not Kalay Myo town. Actually Ka-le is more correct in international phonetics than Kalay. But since its original name could be Kalay in Burmese, it should be Kalaymyo town. Myo already is town, so it should be Kalay town. But since Myo is what is added to Kalay, it shoud be Kalaymyo town. In the same way, Rih lake should not be Yih lake as its original name how the native call is Rih lake. All personal names in Burmese should all be written in one word like Myomyint-aung. But we don't know how they write it in several names though the parents who give the name give them as one name. It might be because of the way it is written in Burmese alphabet separately into three words. We, the Chins use Roman alphabet in writing our language for which we are much advantaged in this computer era. We can use any computer any where to write our languange wherever English and Romanalphabet is used around the world . Since our original dialect is wriiten in Roman alphabet and in not the alphabet which is used in writing Burmese language, we are to write all the Chins personal names and other names in one word if the name is supposed to be given in one name. There are many Chin names in more than two or three words, For example: Hauzacinpau, Hauzanangkimlai, Ngunzaborchin, Thangchinbik. In Hauzanangkimlai and Hauzacinpau, Hau could be taken from either parents' name. So it could be written as Hau Zacinpau, Hau Zanangkimlai. This is just to write about the principle of writting system and I donot in the least interfere in their personal preference how they have written their names. Ngunzaborchin and Thangchinbik are just purely given names given as one name by their parents. So such one name should be wriiten as we wrote them here in one word. For those who use their clan names as family names, the personal names and the family names should be written separately like Priscilla Vanbawinei Cinzah, Thangchinbik Hlawnceu, Ngocinthawng SuantakI hope media like Khonu mtung, Laiforum, Chinland , zonet should guide us to use this way . Actually Khonu mtung itself should correct its own name as Khonu mtung. This in Haka/Falam dialect is Khuanu tlang. It is corectly translated in Burmese as Natma taung. But since Khonu mtung is the way how the natives there give it, it should be Khonu mtung. Thank you very much. Lian Uk
